The word you’re looking for is “disposable”. Because of the crazy licensing and inspection rules, it’s very expensive to keep a car on the road for more than a few years there, so they have a tendency to treat them as disposable.

Makes it dirt cheap to pick up a front clip, engine, or gray market import, but you also get horror stories of cars with straight tap water in the radiator, oil literally never changed, etc.

Oh, I know! But if you did an engine/trans swap, it would come out to NOT being that cheap anymore, so... :(

There are decent prices on the 2.0L turbo wagons though! :)
